My first new car!
Check it out!!!! I still can’t believe this is really happening. This is MY new car!!! I’ve never driven a new car; all my cars have been at least 10 years old. It’s not brand-spanking new, it’s a 2005 but that’s new to me. And I’ve always wanted a bug!! When I was in high school I wanted one soooo bad and we looked at some but because they were the original 60’s bug, anything in my price range was pretty banged up and in need of engine work so it was out of the question. When they came out with the new ones I could have died!! I’ve always dreamed of driving a convertible. Living in sunny Southern California it seems only natural to ride with the top down on nice days.
When we first saw this car a few days ago, I instantly fell in love with it. But my folks had been leaning towards something more practical, 4 doors, yadda yadda. I didn’t think they would even entertain the thought of such a fun car. Since they’re helping me pay for it, they kinda have some input on my final choice. But for shits and giggles, Haydn says let’s go check it out. Turns out that it was in fact in my price range, it had ridiculously low mileage, and gets great gas mileage.
I called my folks and told them about my find. To my great shock, they both agreed to check it out. We were back at the dealer within the hour. This time my dad took it for a spin. He was surprised at how well it handled. My mom liked the way the top mechanism worked. After a few hours of negotiating on the price, we shook hands and signed paperwork.
I never thought I would ever get something I only dreamed of like this. I just don’t even have the words to describe how happy and how grateful I am for this gift.
